Faith Hope and Love
September 16-29, 2010
FOCUS OF THE ART SHOW
Works submitted for the aft show should incorporate one of the three themes,
Faith, Hope or Loye in a way that enhances human dignity. This art show
welcomes a diversity of expressions which transcends the borders of any
particular religion. We look forward to art which will depict these themes and
the common values which give rise to a life worth living.
ROLE OF SUNNYSIDE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The church will be hosting this exhibition and is not using this event as a
fundraiser. A separate account has been established to cover the production
costs and cash awards to the artists.
The church plans to make a grant/scholarship to a local underprivileged youth
who shows promise as a talented artist providing the shorw is a financial success.
ELIGIBILITY
The artist must be 18 years of age or older and be a resident of the Michiana
area. The art submitted must be the original work of the artist and completed
within the past two years. Art submitted in the church's previous art show
will not be accepted.
MEDIA CRITERIA
2-D and 3-D art work will be accepted. Artwork must not exceed 50 lb. or 4
ft in any dimension.
FRAMING AND PRESENTATION
2-D artwork must be framed and wired for hanging. 3-D art work must be
self supporting or be able to be placed on a pedestal.
ENTRY FEE
There will be a $15 entry fee for the first entry, $5 for the second (maximum
of two entries per artist). Checks should be made payable to Sunnyside Presbyterian
Church and must accompany the entry form. Entry fees are nonrefundable.
SALE OF ARTWORK
Unless otherwise indicated by the artist, all works are for sale. There is no
commission fee on the purchase of the work.

JUROR
Ron Monsma is represented in numerous private and corporate collections across the United States and has had solo exhibitions in Chicago, Indianapolis and Cincinnatti. Most recently he was invited to exhibit as visiting artist at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale Michigan and was included in the Realism Biennial at the Ft. Wayne Museum of Art.
Ron's work has been featured in a number of Nation and International publications including 'The Pastel Journal', 'International Artist Magasine'and 'The Artist's Magazine'. He was also included in the Chinese book 'Contemporary American Oil Painting' publisehed by Jilian Press and Northlight Book pulications 'Pure Color, The Best of Pastel'. In 2008, Ron recieved the Pastel Journal's Best of Show Award in the Pastel 100 Competition.
He is currently represented by Miller Gallery in Cinicinnati, Ohio and is Assistant Professor of Drawing and Painting at Indiana University of South Bend.
AWARDS RECEPTION
All artists, friends and church members are invited to attend the awards reception on Friday, September 16 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Awards presentation will be at 6:15 p.m.
